Indus Valley Civilisation
3400-1700 BCE

The Bronze Age in the Indian subcontinent began around 3400 BCE with the early Indus Valley Civilization.

             Indus Valley Civilization was centered on the river Indus and its tributaries.  It is one of the world's earliest urban civilizations contemporary to Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilisations. It was located in Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan in India and in Sindh and Punjab in Pakistan and Baluchistan in modern-day.  The famous cities are Dholavira, Kalibangan, Ropar, Rakhigrahi and Lothal in India and Harappa, Ganeriwala and Mohenjodaro in Pakistan. Pre Harappan Culture 3400-2600 BCE

Mature Harappan Culture 2600- 1950 BCE

Post Harappan Culture 195o-1750  BCE
